Monitoring Your Advertising Success

As with any marketing, it is important to evaluate the results of your advertising.

There are a few simple ways you can assess which types of advertising has generated the best results for your business:

  • Ask your customers how they found out about your business.
  • Motivate customers to mention/bring in an advertisement for a discount.
  • Use a separate phone number or email address for specific advertisements to track the response.
  • Monitor the enquiries from customers just after a new advertisement is published.

 

Track any business that is generated by the advertising and this will tell you what your return on investment has been – in other words how much business you have generated versus the cost of the advertising. 

If you know how many extra visits, overnight stays or bookings you need to cover the cost of the advert and make some profit, that will tell you if it is good value or not.
